Born in Sydney, Australia to Chilean parents Cherie grew up surrounded by musicians and artists. Her father was a stage manager for some of the biggest international Latin American festivals around Sydney at the time which quickly introduced Cherie to the backstage life of the music industry. She started performing on stages at the tender age of 11 years old and started to take singing lessons with a range of different teachers learning various genres of music which developed her unique voice and style.
By the age of 14 Cherie was the opening act for International Chilean superstars touring in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra. Which developed her performance style to a more theatrical one with dancers and costume changes in her shows. She was noticed by Rojo, a Chilean TV show equivalent to The Voice and was invited to perform on live TV in Chile.
Cherie continued to gig throughout her life and became the lead singer of a cover band performing regularly at different venues and events including weddings, corporate events, Penrith Panthers Vip lounge and P&O Cruise Australia. During this time Cherie decided to Study Music and successfully completed her Bachelor of Music at the University of Western Sydney.
Apart from being a Singer, Cherie is also a professional Samba Dancer. Performing in many Latin entertainment companies through the years including Rio Project one of the most authentic Brazilian Entertainment companies in Australia. Dancing presented many opportunities, internationally and on TV shows including SBS’s Jimnoeins the full Brazilian World Cup, Sydney Harbour Cruises, and Channel 7’s Sunrise.
Training at Australia’s best Samba School, Escola de Samba in Sydney her experience and training paved the way for teaching Samba as in Instrutor at West End’s Dance school YCV for 2 years. During her dance years she also successfully finished her studied in Fitness with a Cert IV which led to employment as a personal trainer at Fernwood and Anytime Fitness.
TV and Modelling was also a part of Cheries aspirations working as an extra in commercials. Her latest work is in a 2022 Netflix series “Gods Favourite Idiot” starring Melissa Mcartney shot in Byron Bay and Lismore NSW. She was also a model at one of Sydney’s prestige venues the Ivy pool bar, working as a model for an Aperol Spritz campaign.
With experience as a performer and Music education Cherie started teaching singing lessons at the age of 18 privately at Music Schools and was the vocal coach at a High School in Sydneys West for 5 years. She currently teaches singing & piano lessons at Megaphone Studios in Brisbane.
In 2023 Cherie signed her first Songwriter composer agreement with Australian/New Zealand media production publishing company BeatsFresh APRA AMCOS writing her first modern latin Music for TV & advertising album release.
She also does Session work in the studio recording backing vocal tracks for artists at Megaphone Studios.
Cherie continues to perform gigs around the Gold Coast and Brisbane as a session vocalist in Music agency Baker Boys, a live band service for Weddings and professional events. In 2023 performed the Mexican National Anthem on Foxtel Main Event Live for the Tim Tszyu vs Carlos Ocampo Interim World title Boxing event held at the Gold Coast convention & exhibition centre that was aired worldwide.
